Rebecca Smith Earns Spot On United States National Team
Former Holy Cross rower Rebecca Smith (Class of 2002) has been selected to represent the United States at the 2008 FISA World Rowing Championship, scheduled to take place from July 22-27 in Linz and Ottensheim, Austria. She will compete in the lightweight women's quadruple sculls. Smith earned her spot on the national team with a first place finish at the 2008 World Championship Trials, which were held from June 24-26 on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J. (more)

Women's Rowing Travels To England
The College of the Holy Cross women's rowing team just returned from a trip to England, where they took part in the 2008 women's Henley Regatta. The Crusaders departed for Europe on Monday, June 16, took part in the Henley Regatta on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, then returned home on Tuesday, June 24. Throughout their trip to England, nine different members of the team provided updates on their experiences to GoHolyCross.com. (more)

Rowing Announces Team Awards
The Holy Cross men's and women's rowing teams have announced their team award winners for the 2007-2008 season. Senior Caitlin Rushworth (Newport, R.I.) has received the Crusader Award, given to the most dedicated rower on the women's team. Senior Chris Lynett (Scranton, Pa.) is the recipient of the Chick Award, honoring 1970 Holy Cross graduate Larry Chick, and recognizing the person who stands out on the team as going above and beyond expectations.
